Demand for new homes in Rushden reflects strength of local property market

A new development in Rushden is proving to be in high demand with all but 19 homes now sold.

Davidsons Homes is building a range of 80 one, two, three, four and five-bedroom homes at Sanders Fields, including a selection of bungalows.

With eight properties now completed and occupied, the remaining private homes sold have been reserved off-plan by buyers keen to secure their chosen plot.

Simon Tyler, Sales Director of Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said: “The fact that we have sold so many homes off-plan at Sanders Fields, and continue to be inundated with enquiries, is a clear sign of the strength of the housing market in Northamptonshire – where house prices rose by eight per cent last year*.

“The ongoing success of this site mirrors the success of our nearby Irthlingborough development, Diamond Heights, which saw consistently strong sales rates right up until it sold out – despite the fact it launched just before the first lockdown.”

Davidsons Homes started construction work at Sanders Fields in October 2020, and welcomed the first residents into their new homes at the end of last year.

Simon said: “So far, there has been a real mix of buyers at Sanders Fields, though we have noticed that many are local people from Rushden. There’s been a trend in buyers looking to downsize into our range of three-bedroom properties, and we’ve also had a lot of interest in the bungalows which will be released onto the market shortly.

“With the first residents already moved into their new houses, there is a lovely community forming at the development as buyers settle in and make it home.”

Work is scheduled to be finished at Sanders Fields by Spring 2023. There is currently a mix of three and four-bedroom houses available to reserve at the development, with prices starting from £294,995.
