East Herts District Council has approved planning consent for housebuilder Redrow’s first phase of new homes located to the East of Stevenage off Gresley Way.
The phase will comprise 253 homes and follows Redrow securing outline planning consent for up to 618 homes for the entire site which was approved by the Council in December 2020.
The 93-acre site has been named Hazel Park and will contain homes and apartments ranging in size from two to five-bedrooms. Within the 618 new homes, affordable provision is also secured at 40%, through a mixed tenure of shared ownership and affordable rent.
Kerry McCoubrey, Sales Director at Redrow Eastern, commented: “We are excited to be delivering the first phase of homes in Stevenage. This is a significant milestone for the business, meeting local housing need and providing a wide range of options in terms of size and affordability, catering for a diverse mix of buyers across the property ladder.”
Construction on this first housing phase is due to start in the Autumn, and the community is expected to launch to market in January 2023.
