A housing development which was the first to welcome residents to the new village of Houlton on the edge of Rugby is nearing completion.
Davidsons Homes was the first developer to start building on the former Rugby Radio Station site, which will eventually comprise around 6,000 homes, when it commenced construction work back in October 2016.
The first buyers moved in at Dollman Meadow in December 2017, and three years on the finishing touches are now being made to the 104-home development, where the final few properties are due to be completed and occupied in January.
In addition to the range of three, four and five-bedroom homes at Dollman Meadow, Davidsons Homes is also building 154 homes at its adjacent development, Houlton View, 140 of which have already sold.
Work has also started on a new, third parcel of land which will see a further 27 homes delivered by the housebuilder.
Plans for an additional 43 homes are currently with Rugby Borough Council for approval.
Simon Tyler, Sales Director at Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said: “As the first housebuilder to deliver homes for this exciting new community, we are extremely proud of the new neighbourhood which has been created at Dollman Meadow.
“With plans approved for a further 27 homes on our third parcel of land, and planning approval for a further 43 homes expected shortly, we are committed to building in Houlton until at least 2022, and look forward to continuing to be a part of this growing community.”
Houlton is a new village on the eastern edge of Rugby, located on the site of the former Rugby Radio Station. Outline planning permission has been granted for up to 6,000 new homes which are set to be built by a consortium of housebuilders, including Davidsons Homes.
In addition to bringing much-needed homes to Rugby, Houlton is also set to include three new primary schools and a secondary school, as well as areas of public open space, and sports and community facilities.
A selection of three and four-bedroom homes are currently available to purchase at Houlton View, with prices starting at £292,995.
