Final homes for sale at new development in Ashford

Final homes for sale at new development in Ashford

A new neighbourhood is taking shape in Ashford, where there is now just the final selection of homes remaining for sale.

Bellway Kent is building 220 new homes at Hinxhill Park, off Hythe Road, on a 24-acre site to the east of the town. The development is also creating a new link road between the A20 and the rear of William Harvey Hospital.

Plans for the scheme were first approved in September 2017. A total of 176 two, three, four and five-bedroom homes are being built for private sale, and the remaining 44 properties made available as affordable housing for local people through rent or shared ownership.

Mark Harrop, Sales Director for Bellway Kent, said: “Hinxhill Park has proved to be a very popular site, especially with growing families in the Ashford area looking to upgrade and to buy a bigger home with more space.

“This is a key development for the local area which is not only bringing more than 200 much-needed new homes but also creating jobs during the construction life of the site. In addition to this, we are contributing more than £2.5 million to finance a number of improvements to local infrastructure and public facilities, which will benefit the whole community.

“The majority of residents have moved into their new homes here and we can already see a vibrant new neighbourhood taking shape. As more and more people move onto the development, a real sense of belonging and identity is being created at Hinxhill Park.”

A couple from Ashford are loving their new life at Hinxhill Park after buying their first family home following 10 years of renting.

Jonathan Jenner, a project officer for a gas company, and administrative assistant Nicola Jenner, 39, moved into their new three-bedroom home at the development in August this year, along with their children, Ashdon, five, and three-year-old twins, Tyler and Lexa.

Jonathan, 53, said: “Our new house has much more space than our old property. It is an airy home, we have an en suite, an entrance hall, a kitchen/diner, and a large lounge that we have been able to split in two to create a play area for the children.

“We have been able to add our own stamp to the house and we have really enjoyed stylising the interior of our home. We turned part of the master bedroom into an office, which has been great during lockdown, and we have installed a fitted wardrobe.

“Owning the house also means that we have security. It is an investment we have made for our children’s future.”

As part of the Hinxhill Park development, Bellway is providing financial contributions to the local area totalling more than £2.5million, with £848,000 towards primary education, £441,000 towards secondary education, £669,000 towards junction 10A of the M20, and £367,000 towards a new outdoor activity zone at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford. Additional contributions will be made to adult social care, allotments, cemeteries, community learning, libraries, parks and youth services.

Mark said: “Construction work is progressing well at the site and we are due to finish the development in 2023 so this really does represent the last chance for potential purchasers to act and secure a new home in this much sought-after new neighbourhood.”

There is currently a selection of four-bedroom homes available to reserve at Hinxhill Park, with prices starting at £495,995.
