Elan Homes has stepped in to rescue a stalled housing development in the Fylde coast village of Wrea Green.
The independent housebuilder has acquired a part-built site to the west of Bryning Lane, Wrea Green.
Work on the scheme ceased when the previous developers, Hollinwood Homes, went into administration in October 2019.
Elan is set to re-start construction imminently, with the homes due to be released for sale in the summer.
It’s the second Lancashire located site acquired by Cheshire-based Elan this year. The homebuilder has acquired 10.1 acres of land at Redwood Point in Marton Moss, near Lytham. Known as Redwood Gardens, the development will offer 86 new homes.
Philip Palmer, land director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “Moving into Lancashire is part of Elan’s growth strategy, as we look to expand in terms of the geographic area we cover and the total number of homes we build. Between them, our two new sites in Blackpool and Wrea Green will deliver more than 100 new homes, helping to satisfy demand and keep the market moving in those specific areas of Lancashire.
“Wrea Green is a sought-after village, where people aspire to live and we appreciate the existing residents’ frustrations at work there having stalled under the previous owners. We’re eager to start construction at the earliest opportunity in order to complete the site and provide the high quality housing people want and need.”
The homes Elan are building in Wrea Green enjoy an idyllic location, with the site bounded by open countryside on two sides. The central village green and other local amenities are just a five-minute walk away, plus the highly desirable Victorian seaside town of Lytham is only four miles, or a 10-minute drive, away.
