Bellway gets green light to deliver 370 homes in Bromsgrove

Bellway is set to start work on 370 new homes at the western edge of Bromsgrove after being given the green light for a new housing development.

The housebuilder’s application to build on a 42-acre parcel of land off Whitford Road in the town was approved by Bromsgrove District Council’s planning committee last month.

The development, to be named Whitford Heights, will include 222 properties for private sale and 148 affordable homes.

Bellway is planning to start building work on the site in the late summer and complete the first homes autumn 2023.

Dan Forrester, Land Director for Bellway South Midlands, said: “We are pleased that the local authority has approved our plans to deliver 370 much-needed new homes in what will be a high-quality addition to the town. The development will be part of Bellway’s expansion into Worcestershire over the coming years, as we have also recently acquired land at Hunnington for 86 new homes.

“This is a major residential development for Bromsgrove which will also include over 10 acres of public open space and a children’s play area for new residents and the existing community to enjoy.
