Success for Watford showhome at International Property Awards

A showhome at Bellway London’s Waterside at Riverwell development in Watford has won a prestigious design award.

The one-bedroom apartment at the riverside development, off Thomas Sawyer Way, has won a five star status award in the category of Residential Interior Show Home at the 2022 International Property Awards.

The designers took inspiration from an array of natural features near the development such as the River Colne and Oxhey Park, using flowing lines in the artwork, wall coverings and furniture.

Vesta entered the design in the International Property Awards. Waterside at Riverwell was announced as the winner of Best Residential Interior Show Home for Hertfordshire earlier in October. During the awards ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, it was revealed that it had secured the highest award, achieving five stars.

Greg Allsop, Sales Director for Bellway London, said: “A huge congratulations to Vesta for its well-deserved win at the International Property Awards.

“We wanted Vesta to create something for our show apartment that felt ambitious yet attainable, and that would truly inspire our homebuyers.

“Vesta did exactly that, creating a fresh, contemporary and comfortable home design. The bedroom is a real showstopper and the striking feature wall in the living room area adds a modern feel.

“We have received excellent feedback from potential buyers who have visited this show apartment and found it inviting and very memorable. They’ve gone away inspired and excited by the property, and we couldn’t ask for more than that.”

Samuel Lewis-Clinton, Group Sales Director at Vesta, explained that the design combined a contemporary style with a fresh and earthy feel, featuring rust red and forest green shades alongside bold patterned wallpapers and coordinated headboard upholstery.

He said: “The starting point for the designer was imagining who the potential buyers would be. The interiors were then developed around the idea of a young professional couple who work within the city and want to set down roots and create a haven for themselves with their new home.

“These awards don’t just focus on the finished design, but how well you met the brief for the client and what details showcase your creative thinking. That’s something very important to us as we pride ourselves on how we pay attention to detail and provide a personalised service to our clients.”

The accolade is the second to be awarded to a Bellway London development within the space of a few weeks. Bellway London won the Best First-Time Buyer Home category at the Evening Standard’s Homes and Property Awards in October for Eastside Quarter in Bexleyheath.

Bellway London is building 143 one, two, and three-bedroom apartments at Waterside at Riverwell.

Greg continued: “Buyers who purchase one of our remaining one-bedroom apartments at Waterside at Riverwell will be gifted with a furniture pack from our award-winning designers. This will give them the opportunity to live in a beautifully designed home, just like our award-winning show apartment.”

A selection of one and two-bedroom apartments are currently for sale, priced between £275,000 and £392,500.
