Ashberry Homes invests £480,000 in Wingerworth

Investment of more than £480,000 is being made by Ashberry Homes to improve facilities in Wingerworth, Derbyshire.

The housebuilder is developing 80 new homes at Mill Fields, off Mill Lane in the village, which will include 68 three and four-bedroom detached houses for private sale and 12 two and three-bedroom affordable properties for local people.

Detailed plans for the development were approved by North East Derbyshire District Council in August last year.

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Ashberry Homes will be making significant financial contributions towards local infrastructure and facilities, including more than £227,000 towards primary education, £152,000 towards highways, and more than £100,000 towards off-site play facilities and their maintenance.

Ashberry Homes’ Carolyne Watkinson said: “We are making substantial investment in the local area at Wingerworth as well as providing much-needed new homes for the local community.

“The new houses we’re building here will meet the needs of local people, with a range of designs to suit those starting out on the property ladder as well as those looking for more space as their families grow.

“People moving here will be able to join what is already a thriving community, which is set to be enhanced with the contributions we are making towards primary education, highways and play facilities. I would encourage anyone hoping to make their home at Mill Fields to visit our website and find out more.”
