Autograph Homes appoints Richard Clarke as Head Of Land and Planning.
Richard Clarke has been appointed as Head of Land and Planning at Autograph Homes, a Bristol-based independent homebuilder, as the company targets an increased presence in the local market. Mr Clarke will be responsible for sourcing and acquiring new parcels of land in and around the city.
Following significant investment in the company by the Housing Growth Partnership last year, Autograph Homes has already completed its first project, at Players Close in Hambrook, and is currently working on sites in Cheltenham Road and in Bath.
Paul Abson, Chairman of Autograph Homes, said: “We are delighted to welcome Richard into the fold at Autograph Homes. The fact that Richard has chosen to join us is testament to the relevance of our business model and our ambitions for growth. We occupy a niche position in the marketplace and believe that we can play a crucial role in helping provide much-needed desirable homes to families in the Bristol area.”
Mr Clarke, the former chairman of Bristol Zoo, has a track record in property development, planning, business strategy and business turnaround in roles including housing development manager at Taunton Deane Borough Council, director at property consultancy GVA, South West regional chairman at the House Builder Federation and land director at housing developer Bovis Homes.
On his appointment to his new role at Autograph Homes Mr Clarke said: “Autograph Homes has already demonstrated that it is a developer with an appreciation of design and specification. They’re not going to be churning out boxes – it’s a modern housebuilder creating quality homes that you yourself would want to live in.”
