Interior design specialist, Edward Thomas Interiors has completed the installation of one its more unusual show apartments in the Digbeth neighbourhood of Birmingham.
On behalf of St Modwen Homes, the Birmingham-based team has designed and delivered a vibrant one bedroom apartment to reflect Digbeth’s bohemian, industrial style. “Digbeth One 2 is a brand new collection of apartments right in the heart of Birmingham city centre, “explains Michael Novak, head of design at Edward Thomas Interiors. “The neighbourhood has a strong industrial heritage but more recently, has enjoyed a resurgence as one of the city’s vibrant and creative districts. Our design took inspiration from this and we’ve been able to create a modern and edgy space ideal for urban living.
“We’ve deliberately adopted a mismatched style so house hunters will find elements of retro, Skandi and industrial; it’s meant to inspire a sense of playful eccentricity. Bold accessories, wireframe and wooden furniture, graffiti artwork all blend seamlessly together with a natural colour palette, albeit with mustard yellow accents for that extra burst!”
Launched 23 January, Digbeth One 2 features contemporary one, two and three bedroom apartments ideal for professionals, first time buyers, investors or young couples. Each of the open plan apartments benefits from Hyperoptic broadband and residents will also have access to a communal rooftop space. Alison MacLean, head of marketing at St Modwen Homes said: “Digbeth One 2 is quite a distinction from our usual developments so we wanted the show apartment to be spectacular. The Edward Thomas Interiors team has really excelled and captured the essence of modern, city centre living. We expect lots of interest from potential purchasers and are confident these imaginative interiors will inspire plenty of reservations!”
Edward Thomas Interiors is now busy installing the next show apartment at Digbeth One 2, which is scheduled to launch on 20 February. Michael added: “Obviously we can’t reveal too much but we’re planning something very contrasting, very luxurious and very inviting. We’ve been able to be quite unconventional with these show apartments so we hope house hunters will find them striking!”
