The South Midlands region of Davidsons Homes is expanding its housebuilding operations into a fourth county.
Just two years after it was established, the Blisworth-based housebuilder has built over 360 homes at locations in Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Buckinghamshire.
Now, the developer is extending its geographical reach further east into Bedfordshire, starting with sites in the villages of Meppershall and Biddenham.
Davidsons Homes has already commenced construction work at its 145-home Woodlands Rest development in Meppershall.
The housebuilder has also submitted plans to Bedford Borough Council to deliver 296 properties as part of a wider neighbourhood being built in Biddenham.
James Burnham, Managing Director of Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said: “The acquisition of our first sites in Bedfordshire represents the next stage of our ambition to establish Davidsons Homes as one of the leading housebuilding brands in the South Midlands.
“The fast growth of the division highlights not only the success of our existing developments across the region, but also reflects Bedfordshire’s status as a major property hotspot. The growing demand for homes in countryside locations within commuting distance of London has made the county a particularly popular choice for housebuyers post lockdown and its picture-postcard villages are a perfect fit for our traditional Georgian and Victorian-inspired properties.
“Our plans for Meppershall and Biddenham have been carefully designed to ensure they deliver attractive new neighbourhoods that blend in with their surroundings – an approach which exemplifies our commitment to creating new homes developments of the highest standards.”
Davidsons Homes South Midlands was created as part of the expansion of the Ibstock-based housebuilder, which was founded in 2007 and is building homes in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
