Anwyl Homes’ Lancashire region has seen a 100% increase in housing completions during 2021 and is on course for further growth over the next year.
The Chorley-based business completed 198 properties in the 12 months to the end of September and is now targeting a further increase to take the business close to 300 legal completions in the current financial year.
The figures mark impressive growth by Anwyl Homes Lancashire, a business formed in 2017 with just a single employee that has now grown to circa 60 staff operating from offices at Buckshaw Village and has 10 development sites in its portfolio.
Land acquired during the financial year just ended includes a nine-acre site at Warton, in Fylde, for 96 homes, and contracts exchanged on 8.5 acres in Catterall, Wyre, for circa 80 new homes.
Developments launched during the year include the 72-property Lawrence Gardens in Barton, near Preston; Priory Gardens in Burscough, West Lancashire, which has planning approval for 267 new homes; and the first tranche of 240 new homes at Winnington Place in Winnington, Cheshire. In the meantime, the company’s very first development, Carr’s Rise, in Prescot, Merseyside has seen its final home sold.
John Grime, Managing Director for Anwyl Homes Lancashire, said: “We’ve continued to grow and demand from home buyers has remained strong, so much so that we’re significantly forward sold for the current year.
“Our primary focus now is to secure more land, especially in Greater Manchester, Merseyside and along the M62 corridor, as well as central Lancashire; and to get new outlets open to meet the continuing high demand for quality new homes.
“Challenges include the supply issues and materials shortages the construction sector continues to experience; but, as part of a business with a 90-year heritage, we are well placed to face these issues and have a robust and trusted network of contractors and suppliers in place to help us deliver.”
