Vent-Axia launches de-centralised mechanical extract ventilation

Vent-Axia has launched the Lo-Carbon NBR dMEV C, an efficient de-centralised mechanical extract ventilation (dMEV) unit. Designed for kitchen, utility, bathroom and cloakroom applications, the Lo-Carbon NBR dMEV C achieves Building Regulations with quiet sound levels.

Developed for housebuilders, it is been tested to the new SAP 10 performance requirement and listed in the PCDB with its Specific Fan Power (SFP) values of 0.08 w/l/s, and provides quiet operation independently tested at 7.4 dB(A).

The Lo-Carbon NBR dMEV C achieves its SFPs and low sound power levels through its patent pending air pathway design, which promotes turbulent airflow, allowing for a predictable performance curve and ensuring performance can be met.

High pressure development and the silent mixed flow impeller means the Lo-Carbon dMEV C can meet the requirements of many domestic installations without the need to use a traditional centrifugal fan. Featuring a single EC/DC motor the fan achieves high levels of efficiency thanks to its axial fan, which consumes less energy than the equivalent centrifugal fan – reducing Dwelling Emission Rates (DER).

Circular design
Featuring a circular design with a multi-orientation grille the Lo-Carbon NBR dMEV C is IPX5 rated, allowing installation in Zone 1, 2 and 3 and offers 100mm and 125mm models, with variable speed setting for ease of installation and commissioning. The fan’s brand-new control platform provides fully adjustable airflow and the controls for the NBR dMEV C unit provide adjustable, continuous trickle speeds with a boost speed that is activated via an integral humidistat or via LS Input.

“The Lo-Carbon NBR dMEV C was designed to achieve new Building Regulation ventilation rates while improving indoor air quality, using the lowest number of installed fans, and the most efficient and quietest fans on the market, ticking all the right boxes for housebuilders”, explained Joe Tse, Product Manager at Vent-Axia.

He continued: “Meanwhile, homeowners will be happy with a highly efficient, quiet fan which does not disturb their sleep if the light is turned on during the night. Installers will appreciate the ease of install and commissioning through its brand-new control platform which provides fully adjustable airflow.”

Relaxing environment
Designed to offer a more relaxing environment for the homeowner, the Lo-Carbon NBR dMEV C features an optional delayed start. This patented comfort control option allows the homeowner to enjoy a quiet bathroom for up to 20 minutes before the boost activates. Furthermore, if the light switch turns on and off within three minutes, the boost will not activate.
