PHPD discovers why housebuilder Maulden Vale selected timber interior doors from Hörmann UK to complement its latest development in Gamlingay.
Maulden Vale Ltd has been creating stylish new homes for more than 30 years. Its approach is to build sustainable bespoke housing developments that are sensitive to the local surroundings – developing a small number of high quality homes on each carefully chosen site.
To ensure that each development reflects Maulden Vale approach the company’s founder, Michael Hillson, designs and inspects every property to ensure the interior and exterior finish is of the highest standard to create a ‘Hillson home’.
Specification of first class materials and products, from Solid Oak curved staircases to superior sound and heating systems, are all designed to make the homeowner’s lives easier.
At its latest development in Gamlingay, Bedfordshire, 13 homes are situated on a picturesque site on Cowslip Lane. Having specified Hörmann UK’s garage and entrance doors on a selection of its properties over the last three years, the properties at Gamlingay also include Hörmann UK’s timber interior doors, which feature a European doorset that includes the frame, architrave and door in one piece.
This provided fast and simple installation, whilst also creating an aesthetically pleasing finish that doesn’t require any painting or varnishing – minimising installation time for the contractors.
The interior doors, in a White Oak finish, some of which have been installed with additional glazing, were also chosen due to their service life. The design enables the doors to be simply lifted off the frame, rather than requiring the removal of screws and hinges. Hörmann UK’s team of installers visited the site to provide Maulden Vale’s team with training on how to correctly install and service the doors, ensuring the highest finish was achieved.
The Operations Manager for Maulden Vale commented: “We want to ensure we add a personal touch to each home, so no one property is the same as the next. Maulden Vale is looking to specify Hörmann UK’s interior doors on future developments throughout the Bedfordshire area.
