Stewart Milne Timber Systems & Taylor Lane / MOD homes in Wiltshire
A partnership between timber frame companies, Stewart Milne Timber Systems and Taylor Lane, is set to deliver 450 MoD homes near Salisbury, as part of the Ministry of Defence’s re-basing programme.
Stewart Milne Timber Systems (SMTS) and Taylor Lane Timber Frame have been appointed by contractor, Lovell, to provide timber frames for the Larkhill residential scheme, which is being constructed on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, on land which has facilitated British Army training exercises since 1898.
The initiative is part of a wider Defence Infrastructure Organisation project which aims to deliver 917 homes on the land across three sites at Larkhill, Bulford and Ludgershall – built to house forces personnel as they return from bases in Germany. Find out more…
Fairgrove Homes / Brewery Yard
Ilkeston-based housebuilder Fairgrove Homes is continuing its momentum at the former Kimberley brewery with work now underway to restore buildings on the Brewery Yard phase – promising a range of new and converted two-, three- and four-bedroom designs.
This latest phase includes the restoration of the Grade II* listed buildings surrounding the former brewery yard – the maltings, kilns, kiln stores and tower. Once complete, these buildings will be converted into a range of luxury apartments and semi-detached properties as well as several modern office spaces.

Hayfield / Hayfield Green, Stanton Harcourt
Hayfield has commenced construction on its most challenging project to date; the conversion and new build redevelopment of the 21-acre former Stanton Harcourt WWII Airfield in West Oxfordshire.
The £25million scheme – which will be known as Hayfield Green – has a two-year build programme. The first phase of the 66 one to five-bedroom homes will be made available for sale when the scheme launches to the public in late September.
The collection of traditional brick, stone and render homes will feature Hayfield’s luxurious specification, including bespoke Manor kitchens, Laufen bathrooms, Minoli ceramic tiles, underfloor heating, heritage bronze ironmongery and Farrow & Ball paint. Find out more…
Aster Group / The Hedgerows, Eastergate
Housing association Aster Group is set to bring its first shared ownership properties to West Sussex later this year. A £4.8million development, The Hedgerows is a partnership with Taylor Wimpey, with Aster acquiring the 20 homes via a Section 106 acquisition. Homes are set to complete in August this year and are now available on the market.
Amanda Williams, group development director at Aster, said: “The Hedgerows marks our first foray for shared ownership in West Sussex, an area known for its expensive housing. Shared ownership provides choice to residents priced out of the local housing market, giving them the chance to access a home they own via a lower deposit.”
Last year, Aster expanded its footprint in the South of England with nearly 100 affordable homes across its first sites in Surrey.
PH Homes / Alderley Park
Cheshire-based developer PH Homes has submitted a planning application for the next phase at Alderley Park, an £11 million development of family homes designed by architect Robert Adam. The site at Alderley Park in Cheshire, is the fourth acquired by PH Homes and, if granted, will see this historic site returned to residential use after nearly 90 years.
Phil Hughes, Managing Director, PH Homes said: “Alderley Park is being returned to its former glory and we are extremely fortunate to work with one of the UK’s eminent architects Robert Adam to bring our ideas to fruition.”

Bellway / Goods Yard, Bishop Stortford
Bellway has acquired the second phase of the housebuilder’s Goods Yard development, part of a wider scheme to transform the area around Bishop Stortford’s railway station. This next phase will provide a further 170 apartments.
The £200 million project will deliver a total of 586 new homes, an 85-bed hotel, 55-bed care home, new transport interchange and station square, retail and office space on the former railway goods yard site off Station Road. Bellway is building 323 of the new homes, featuring a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments across the two phases. The first homes are due to go on sale in Spring 2020.
Jones Homes / Walton Meadows scheme in Walton le Dale, Preston
Jones Homes is building seven starter homes at its Walton Meadows scheme in Walton le Dale, Preston. The homes are being sold at 80 per cent of the usual market value. Five discounted homes are currently available to local people who meet qualifying criteria. Walton Meadows comprises of 26 properties.
