Suffolk-based Hopkins Homes is working with the Lighthouse Club, the construction industry charity, to help maintain the wellbeing of its workforce.
Hopkins staff now have access to a 24/7 confidential helpline, a text-back counselling service and a self-support app. Face-to-face help is also available via several Lighthouse Beacons located throughout the region (including ‘Talk Clubs’ based in Norwich, Ipswich and Cambridge).
Lighthouse reckons two construction workers take their own life every day in the UK and Ireland. The charity’s ‘Help Inside the Hard Hat’ campaign aims to raise awareness of poor mental health within the industry, with a mission to ensure no worker or family feels alone in a crisis.
