Ibstock recognised for ‘excellence’ in responsible product sourcing.
Ibstock has become the first brick producer to achieve an ‘Excellent’ Performance rating under the industry-wide Construction Products Certification (CPC) scheme.
The scheme recognises responsible sourcing of construction products and, in its latest assessment of Ibstock’s approach and methodology, stated that the clay bricks, Special Shapes and masonry assemblies produced and supplied by the company conform to the BES 6001: Issue 3 Framework Standard for Responsible Sourcing.
Andrew Halstead-Smith, Group Marketing Manager, Ibstock, comments: “To be the first UK brick manufacturer to achieve the ‘Excellent’ performance rating under the CPC scheme, marks a significant achievement. As industry leaders, we take our environmental and sustainability responsibilities extremely seriously, and it is gratifying that the hard work put in across all areas of our operations has been recognised in this way. This offers our customers the assurance that the products and solutions they buy from us have been manufactured to the very highest standards and the upmost care taken when it comes to the environmental impact of our production.”
Assessment through the standard for responsible sourcing is made across a number of operational areas including, sourcing policies, quality and supplier management systems, gas emission performance, energy management, waste prevention and transportation impact.
BES 6001: Issue 3 Framework Standard for Responsible Sourcing is the latest industry accreditation to be awarded to Ibstock and follows its ISO 9001, 14001 and 50001 Certification & UKAS Accreditations received previously.
