Hopkins launches new staff training scheme

East Anglia housebuilder Hopkins Homes has launched a new ‘Academy’ to optimise staff training.

Explaining the scheme, Shane Vineyard, Head of Quality Assurance & Training said: “The Hopkins Homes Academy works closely with our Human Resource programmes to promote and support a dynamic learning and working environment for staff at all levels of the business.”

“The Academy will enable our people to achieve their full potential; our teams to deliver an exceptional and agile service; and the business to achieve its strategic ambitions.”

The Hopkins Homes Academy will provide:

  • Essential, regulatory and mandatory training
  • Technical, tradecraft and specialist training
  • Management skills
  • Development pathways and formal qualifications

Shane continued: “At Hopkins Homes, we strive to create an enriching environment, where people can be at their best every day, supported by managers who care about their wellbeing and professional development.”

Each role at Hopkins Homes has been mapped out using a matrix with a comprehensive portfolio of training designed to establish and maintain best practice and compliance.  The matrix benchmarks the training delivery and competency levels aligning these to national standards.

Working in-conjunction with Human Resources, a new appraisal system will help identify training plans and development pathways that align with the business’ strategic vision and requirements.

Lee Barnard, Managing Director of Hopkins Homes commented: “Our aim is to become an employer of choice and this is one of our first fundamental steps on this journey. We are one big family at Hopkins Homes, so it’s important that we develop our existing talent and help support their progression within the business.”
