Lincolnshire housebuilder Chestnut Homes has appointed a new manager to oversee health and safety across its developments in the county.
Paul Dixon has taken on the newly created position of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Manager with the family-owned developer. He will be based at the company’s head office in Langworth, Lincoln.
Paul, 51, has worked in health and safety roles in the construction sector for over 10 years, with a further 24 years’ experience in military construction and engineering.
He said: “I was aware of Chestnut Homes’ reputation for having excellent health and safety standards and that was a major reason for me accepting this new role with the company. I am enjoying the challenges that come with my new job and I’m looking forward to using my experience working with contractors to help take health and safety at Chestnut to the next level.
“This new role is a real step up for me. Before, I was working for different contractors which meant I was always working underneath someone, but now, I’m at the top of the ladder so it’s up to me to deal with whatever comes my way every day.”
Paul, who lives in Beverley, East Yorkshire added: “I have found Chestnut Homes to be a really enjoyable place to work. You can tell it is a family owned business, and they treat all their staff like family too. There is such an enjoyable work environment and It’s evident just from being around the staff that the company works with honesty and integrity. They look after their workforce and health and safety is a clear priority of theirs.”
