First residents move into Linden Homes properties at Didcot Grove in Harwell

The first residents have moved into their new Linden Homes properties at Vistry Group’s Didcot Grove location in Harwell.

Vistry is building 49 properties for private sale and 27 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership at the development, off Didcot Road. The private homes include a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom houses and one-bedroom maisonettes.

The new neighbourhood will include public open space, including footpaths and a children’s play area.

Alix Laflin, marketing manager for Vistry Thames Valley, said: “Building work has progressed well at our Didcot Grove site in Harwell, and it’s great to see customers moving into their new homes already.

“This has been a popular development with home-hunters who appreciate its ideal location between Reading and Oxford, and convenient transport links for both car and train travel.

“Close to the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Didcot Grove boasts stunning surroundings as well as local amenities within easy reach, making it the perfect spot for families to call home.”

As part of the planning agreement for Didcot Grove, Vistry is to invest more than £1.5 million in the local community. This includes £1.1 million in education contributions, more than £220,000 towards sports facilities, £62,000 towards bus services, £34,000 towards Harwell village hall and £18,000 towards youth activities.

Didcot Grove will also include a unique and distinctive piece of public art in the public open space, which will be installed later this year.

There’s currently a choice of two and three-bedroom houses available to reserve at Didcot Grove, with prices starting from £330,000.
