Housebuilder Avant Homes has been presented with a Gold Medal by national safety charity the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), winning the organisation’s Gold Award for a sixth successive year.
The RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards recognised the company’s outstanding commitment to health and safety.
Now in its 60th year, the RoSPA Safety Awards are open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas. Judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems and performance, including aspects such as leadership and workforce engagement.
Commenting on the award, Avant Homes corporate responsibility director, David Scott, said: “Being presented with a RoSPA Gold Medal and winning the Gold Award for the sixth successive year is an excellent achievement that everyone in the business can be extremely proud of.
“Everybody at Avant Homes has played a part in collectively enabling the company to achieve the highest of health and safety standards over a sustained period of time. This is a hugely satisfying public recognition of how all employees are committed to delivering the best standards across our developments.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “To win an award at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement for our winners. It recognises their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations.”
The Avant Homes group is one of the leading private developers of residential property in the UK. By the end of this year, Avant Homes will have over 50 live sites across the UK ranging from Dundee to Milton Keynes.
