Construction work has now started at a new housing development in Sherfield on Loddon.
Bellway Wessex is building 150 homes on land off Reading Road between Chineham and Sherfield on Loddon.
Longfield Place, as the development is to be known, will comprise a mix of two, three and four-bedroom houses for private sale, as well as 60 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership.
A public open space and children’s play area will also be created as part of the development.
Kim Caldwell, Sales Director for Bellway Wessex, said: “Longfield Place will deliver a wide variety of properties to suit people at different stages of the property ladder.
“The homes at Longfield Place have been carefully designed to reflect the existing local architecture, with features such as traditional pitched roofs and a mix of red, brown and buff bricks being used to create a varied and interesting street scene.
“The development will have an open spacious feel, with public open space being a key part of the design, as many buyers have stated that green space has become an important feature when buying a home.
“With construction work now underway on the site, we are looking forward to creating a new community which will represent a positive addition to the village.”
Detailed plans for the development were approved last year, following the granting of outline planning permission in 2017.
The first homes could be released for sale later this year, with an official on-site launch due to take place in early 2022.
