West Sussex-based Sigma Homes has submitted a planning application to Runnymede Borough Council for a 10-acre (4.01ha) site comprising 29 dwellings on the outskirts of Weybridge town centre in Surrey. Located near the River Wey, the proposed £20m scheme is only seven miles from Woking and 16 miles from Central London.
Powell Dobson Architects has been appointed by Sigma Homes to undertake the architectural designs for the homes, which comprise a mix of detached, semi-detached, and terraced houses, together with eight apartments. The design of the properties will be in keeping with the character of the local area and follow the popular Arts and Crafts style of architecture, which is prevalent throughout Surrey.
All Sigma Homes developments are built utilising timber frame construction to maximise thermal efficiency. The one- to four-bedroom homes will hold an EPC A rating, with EV car charging points made available to all residents. Each property will also benefit from an air source heat pump.

Sigma Homes’ development proposals include retaining and restoring heritage features and buildings within the redundant collection of industrial premises, including the Grade II Listed Pigeon House and courtyard assemblage. The new residential development will maintain existing moats, ponds, and the adjoining landscape, delivering net biodiversity gains.
Located off Hamm Court, which leads onto the A317, the external elevations for the proposed scheme feature brickwork detailing, steeply pitched roofs with cat slide projections, and flat roof projecting bay windows that turn corners and allow a flood of light into the primary rooms. Two parking spaces have been allocated to each property, while the scheme location boasts excellent connectivity to local amenities and services.
Weybridge town centre is a short walk away, with several bus routes and designated cycle lanes serving the immediate area. The site is conveniently located to local shops, supermarkets, and schools. The nearby A317 leads onto the M25, giving easy access to the national motorway network. Addlestone and Weybridge train stations are both just over a mile from the development site, providing frequent services into London Waterloo in as little as 30 minutes.
