Sigma Homes introduces Merrywood to the Surrey village of Thames Ditton

West-Sussex based Sigma Homes has launched Merrywood – the housebuilder’s £18m development located in the affluent Surrey village of Thames Ditton, just south west of London.

Consisting of 26 apartments and houses, the prime 1.2-acre site presents a unique opportunity to own a premium energy-efficient family home in one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in the country. Residential values in Thames Ditton are frequently in excess of £800 psf.

Located off Weston Green, the first phase of Sigma Homes’ brownfield development site will be transformed into 12 three-bedroom semi-detached houses, which will be ready to move into fro December 2023. The spacious homes range from £1.1 to £1.15m, each offering 1,370 sq ft of high-quality accommodation, designed for the requirements of modern living.

Geoff Potton, Chief Executive of Sigma Homes, said: “Thames Ditton is often described as the perfect suburban village, as it offers an idyllic riverside lifestyle. Due to the connectivity into central London, Thames Ditton is highly sought-after by commuters, while there is also a wide range of quality schooling for local families. The features that make living here so special are the array of picturesque buildings and traditional architecture, the outstanding parkland and riverside, and the thriving high street with cafes, boutique shopping and community facilities.

“With energy prices at record levels, our Merrywood development will provide a much-needed boost to the village’s supply of new energy efficient homes. We are very pleased to be on track to deliver the first phase of 12 family houses before the end of this year. While we continue to make progress with the construction programme, this is an ideal time for prospective purchasers to get in touch and book an appointment to view the plans.”

Sigma Homes prides itself on utilising timber-frame construction, in order to maximise thermal efficiency. The collection of houses and apartments at Merrywood have been designed to include architectural references found in the surrounding towns and villages. Each home will benefit from an EV charging point and is being built to a high EPC-B rating.

The internal accommodation for the three-bedroom homes has been designed across two and half floors and includes a dedicated study in addition to the bedrooms. There will be contemporary kitchens with Bosch appliances, fitted wardrobes to all bedrooms, and high-quality vinyl and carpeting provided as standard throughout.

The triangular shaped development site is near to a number of private residences along the western and southern boundaries. Bordering the north east side of the boundary is Esher Sixth Form College. The development is a short walk away from Thames Ditton train station (0.5 miles), which offers frequent 30-minute train services to London Waterloo. There are a further three train stations also within walking distance, providing journeys to London and further afield. Local amenities – and bus stops offering connections to the nearby towns of Esher and Kingston-upon-Thames – are found on Hampton Court Way (A309), accessed off Weston Green Road.

Other nearby towns include Walton on Thames – five miles away and Weybridge – six miles away. The site is located within the district of Elmbridge Borough Council and directly borders the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.

Headquartered in Horsham, West Sussex, Sigma Homes was founded in 2013. The company currently has five live developments in premium locations across the south of England and is on track to deliver 200 homes per annum by 2025.
