Bellway Northern Home Counties has broken ground on its third piece of land at Stanton Cross in Wellingborough to begin work on a development of 180 new homes.
Construction work is underway at Chestnut Vale where the developer is building 171 homes to sell as private housing and nine affordable homes for rent or shared ownership.
The developer is already building 149 new homes at The Beeches at Stanton Cross and a further 135 at Hawthorn Place, its first two developments within the wider scheme.
Stanton Cross is a major mixed-use development located off Irthlingborough Road at the eastern edge of the town. The project is set to deliver 3,650 new homes, employment areas and shopping facilities, together with direct access to Wellingborough railway station.
Luke Southgate, Sales Director for Bellway Northern Home Counties, said: “The ground breaking at Chestnut Vale is a significant milestone for us as a company and for the latest phase on the wider Stanton Cross scheme.
“At Chestnut Vale we are building a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes for private sale and delivering apartments as affordable housing for local people. Stanton Cross is a very exciting project and we are proud to be a part of the consortium delivering a scheme which will create more than 3,000 new jobs and drive more than £1 billion worth of investment into the area.
