Bellway beings work to deliver 165 new homes next to golf club site in Hassocks.
The first spade has been put in the ground as building work to provide new homes begins in Hassocks. Housebuilder Bellway is transforming the 9.65-hectare site at the south-eastern edge of Hassocks Golf Club into a development of 165 new homes.
The development – to be called Kingsland Gate – will include 50 affordable homes and is set to open its doors to the public in Spring 2020.
Daniel Williamson, Head of Sales for Bellway South London, said: “It is very exciting to begin work in Hassocks as we start our journey to deliver a significant number of new homes to this area.
“Our plans for Kingsland Gate have been carefully thought out to complement the reconfigured golf course and the existing surroundings in Hassocks. As well as providing new homes in the village, we are also retaining almost half of the development site as public open space, which will benefit both our new residents and the rest of the community.
“We are now looking forward to progressing our building work on-site before we release the first homes for sale in Spring 2020.”
Bellway is set to make more than £1.8 million in financial contributions to local schools and community facilities as part of the Section 106 planning agreement for the Kingsland Gate development.
Kingsland Gate will occupy the south-eastern part of the golf club, with part of the planned reconfigured golf course to the west.
