The final homes on a new development in Wootton have been sold.
Construction work is due to finish by the end of November on Bellway’s Berry Wood site, where 200 homes will be delivered.
All 158 homes for private sale have been reserved and the final properties will be handed over to their owners as they are completed in the coming months.
Bellway is also delivering 42 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership at the site, off Cranfield Road.
Luke Southgate, Sales Director for Bellway Northern Home Counties, said: “Selling the final home at a development is always a huge source of pride for everyone involved, from the planning team to the construction staff and sales advisors on site.
“Berry Wood has been an incredibly popular development since we launched and demand has been consistently strong throughout. The combination of the rural location and the easy access by road to Bedford and Milton Keynes were big draws for a lot of people.
“We have been able to deliver a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom houses which have appealed to a mix of homebuyers. The final property to be sold was the impressive four-bedroom Kempston showhome, which exemplifies the spacious nature and contemporary appearance of the homes at the development.
“A lot of families have bought homes on the site and a thriving new community is already being established. As part of the development, we are also providing a large open space and a children’s play area at the southern end of the site which will help create a much-valued outdoor amenity.
“All the homes at Berry Wood may have been sold but there are other opportunities for house-hunters to find their dream home in Bedford. We are building at several other developments in and around the town to help meet the continued demand for new homes in the area.”
The final few homes are now available to buy at Eastcotts Green in Shortstown, while construction work is continuing at Brook View in Wixams. Bellway has also started building at New Cardington Fields off Megginson Way.
