Bellway has sold all the homes at a new housing development in Chatham.
The developer is delivering 131 new homes at Crown Fields, which is transforming the former Chatham Golf Centre site off Street End Road.
All 118 properties for private sale at the development have been purchased, while the other 13 homes have been provided as affordable housing for rent or shared ownership.
Bellway Kent is building a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses at the site.
Mark Harrop, Sales Director for Bellway Kent, said: “We have taken the former Chatham Golf Centre and are transforming it into a vibrant new neighbourhood. To pay homage to the site’s former use we have named the houses and apartment types after famous golfers such as Tiger Woods, Nick Faldo and Jack Nicklaus.
“These names have proved popular with buyers who have been attracted to the development by the wide range of homes we are in the process of delivering there. Construction is progressing well at the site and we aim to finish work by the spring of 2022.
“There was a high level of interest in Crown Fields before we launched the development in July 2019. This demand is evidenced by the fact that we sold 118 homes in the following 30 months, which equates to an average of one home being sold every week over that period.”
The Scott family – mum Katrina, dad Lucian, and children Francesca, 15, Madalyn, 13, and Kyle, five – swapped their old home in Chatham for a much bigger house at Crown Fields. The family are very happy at their new home and have had plenty of visitors to the four-bedroom property.
Katrina, 44, who runs her own cake baking business, said: “It’s been lovely when people come over and we can show them how it looks – and when we go out for the day, it still feels surreal when we come back into the house and realise it is ours. The whole move has changed our life.”
Mark said Bellway Kent is looking forward to finishing the work on the site and letting the residents enjoy their new neighbourhood.
He said: “We as a division are committed to helping to deliver much-needed new homes in the Chatham area.
“Anyone who has missed out on securing a home at Crown Fields might be interested to know that we are building a new development, Nightingale Rise, seven miles away at Hoo St Werburgh. Any prospective purchaser should get in touch with our sales team who will be more than happy to give them all the information they need.”
There is now just one remaining three-bedroom home available at Nightingale Rise, with prices starting at £384,995.
