A new residential development designed to offer affordable rent for the over 55’s in Shrewsbury has been completed by Morris Property and Severnside Housing.
Glebe House has been constructed on the site of a former plumbing supplies business in Abbey Foregate, and consists of 27 two bedroom apartments, over three floors, designed to sit sympathetically within their surroundings.
Property developer, Morris Property, was awarded the contract from Severnside Housing and is the first project the two companies have worked together on.
Steve Bowen, Contracts Manager at Morris Property, said: “We were delighted to have been awarded this contract as we are always keen to work on local projects, especially with Severnside Housing who offer a great service to the residents of Shropshire.”
Each of the timber-framed apartments have high quality kitchens and bathrooms and UPVC windows, whilst 22 of the apartments have glazed Juliet balconies, adding an attractive feature for prospective residents.
The ground floor is elevated above surrounding ground levels, enabling the area below to provide secure car parking, with lift access to all floors.
Helen Pugh, Business Development Manager for Severnside Housing, said: “We are extremely pleased with the high quality workmanship of these apartments and we look forward to working with Morris Property again on future developments.”
