New homes to receive 24-Hour sanitisation clean

Pye Homes is ensuring all its newly-built properties receive a comprehensive sanitisation clean before homeowners move in.

The new hygiene procedure is part of a series of initiatives including virtual viewings and appointments introduced by the award-winning Kildington-based developers in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Specialist cleaning team RK Build Cleans use a fogging machine to produce a fine disinfectant spray throughout the entire property, which ensures it is thoroughly sanitised for a period of up to 24 hours.

The new protocols are in place for all new properties sold at both its Hanborough Gate and Park View developments and will become standard with all Pye Homes’ future sites.

“Customers are at the heart of our business, our sales team take the time to get to know every customer and what they want,” said Pye Homes’ MD Graham Flint.

“That’s why we have introduced this new initiative to keep everyone safe; it’s about building communities and we believe that starts from day one.

“In the run up to any house being handed over to its new owners there is often a significant amount of trade traffic in order to ensure the property is fully ready to welcome its new owners.

“The Customer Care Decontamination Clean provides peace of mind and an extra level of security to homeowners that the property they are moving into is safe and sanitised,” he added.

In the wake of Covid-19 Pye Homes is also working with its partners to review every aspect of the housebuilding process in light of new requirements and expectations.

Designers and architects are also looking at potential new layouts for properties that could incorporate specific work from home spaces, more outdoor living areas, additional hygiene options including anti-bacterial surfaces, touchless faucets and more handwashing facilities.

“The home has had a huge part to play in everybody’s lives during lockdown and it has led to people taking a new look at what’s really important to them in their personal living space,” said Graham.

“The idea of your home being both a sanctuary, a place of work and somewhere to relax and unwind has led to a reappraisal of its central role in our lives.

“We’re planning to launch a series of surveys to find out what people want from their properties in the future and we’re keen to hear from anyone who would like to take part,” he added.

Established in 1927, Pye Homes has a recognised tradition of building high quality new homes locally in Oxfordshire and further afield.

The company is currently working with the Blenheim Estate on building 169 homes at Hanborough Gate and 300 homes at Park View, east of Woodstock. Earlier this month they were voted ‘Small Housebuilder of the Year’ at the annual Housebuilder Awards where they also won ‘Best Design For Three Storeys or Fewer’ for the Park View development.

Property is an integral part of Blenheim’s 10-year development programme that includes tripling the Estate’s contribution to the local economy and creating a £45m endowment fund to ensure the long-term future of the World Heritage Site.
