Ashberry & Bellway deliver new homes in Cardington

Two new housing developments being delivered on the former RAF Cardington site will bring a selection of new homes to Bedfordshire.

A total of 250 new homes are being built in New Cardington, near Bedford, in a joint scheme by Ashberry Eastern Counties and Bellway Northern Home Counties. The first homes are taking shape at Bellway’s Eastcotts Green, while work has just begun on the new properties at Ashberry’s Sycamore Avenue.

The properties are part of a wider development on the former RAF Cardington site. A new school and village centre have been provided as part of the scheme and are already open.

Further financial contributions are being made as part of the planning agreement for the overall development, including an additional £1.3m towards local education and £50,000 towards local environmental enhancements.

Ben Smith, Regional Director for Ashberry Homes Eastern Counties, said: “There is a growing demand for new homes in New Cardington and we are really pleased to be helping to meet this need, while also making significant investment in the local area.

“We are committed to enhancing the areas in which we build new homes, so we are particularly proud of our contributions and the difference they will make to New Cardington.

Elaine Brown, Sales Manager for Bellway Northern Home Counties, which is building homes at Eastcotts Green, said: “Bellway has been building new homes in New Cardington for a number of years now and we are really proud of the thriving communities we have created here.

“We have a range of homes currently available to secure at the development, so I would encourage anyone interested to visit the development to avoid missing out.”
