Construction starts on 41 affordable homes in Waterlooville

Stonewater has started construction on a new £4.8 million affordable housing community of 41 homes in Waterlooville.

Stonewater is working with residential developer Taylor Wimpey, Havant Borough Council and Winchester Council to build the scheme off Auger Row, which sits within the 103-home Wellington Park residential development, at Old Park Farm in Hambledon Road. Wellington Park is part of the new Phase 5 West of Waterloo urban extension to Waterlooville which will provide 4,000 new homes over the next few years, 40 per cent of these will be affordable.

Twenty-two homes will be for affordable rent and 19 for low cost shared-ownership. The first 17 Stonewater homes will be ready for handover within the next 12 months.

“We’re delighted to be starting construction on these attractive new homes which will help meet an urgent need for affordable housing for local people in the area, particularly a demand for one- and two-bedroom homes,” says Marie Riordan, Stonewater Regional Development Manager.
