Southern Housing Group, one of the largest housing associations in the south east of England, has signed agreements for two new residential schemes in the Borough of Runnymede, Surrey.
The Group acquired a site as part of the redevelopment plans for the former Brunel University Runnymede Campus located near Egham. Southern Housing Group will work with Bugler Developments Ltd. to deliver a mix of 34 flats and houses for shared ownership and two Starter Homes. Student accommodation, private sale and extra care homes will be constructed on the rest of the site.
Southern Housing Group has also agreed to purchase a combination of 37 flats, houses and bungalows, including 10 homes for shared ownership and 27 for affordable rent, from Crest Nicholson in Longcross near Virginia Water. As part of the redevelopment of this former film studio into 200 new homes, the existing train station will be refurbished and a new business park will be built.
Alan Townshend, Group Development Director at Southern Housing Group, said: “We have strong track-record of building quality homes across a range of tenures in London and the South East and are dedicated to having a positive impact on the areas in which we work.
“We’re delighted to contribute to meeting the thriving demand for quality, modern and affordable homes in Surrey.”
The former Brunel University Runnymede Campus and Longcross projects will respectively complete in 2017 and 2021.
