More than £6 million will be invested in the local community as part of the phased redevelopment of the former Herne Bay Golf Club, Redrow has pledged.
The housebuilder plans to create more than 550 new homes, 30% of which will be affordable housing. Redrow will also invest more than £6.3million in the local community to ensure the sustainability of the new neighbourhood.
Known as The Fairways, the first phase will offer 113 three and four-bedroom homes, subject to planning. Featuring designs from the sought-after Heritage Collection, the development is due to launch ‘off plan’ from September 3rd.
Rachael Baillie, sales director for Redrow Homes (South East), said: “It’s almost five years since the golf club closed and local people have been keen to see the land brought back into good use. There’s certainly a demand for new homes in the area – we already have a database of hundreds of potential purchasers.
“But we don’t just build new homes, we help create and maintain communities by investing in the areas in which we operate. For example, as a result of our Herne Bay development we’ll be investing more than £6.3 million in the local community.”
