Contractor Novus Property Solutions has been appointed to deliver a new housing scheme for Peaks & Plains Housing Trust in Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire for £1.8 million.
The scheme, known as Bridgemont, includes the delivery of 13 new homes, which will provide a mixture of shared ownership and affordable rent options.
Novus will build the homes including the installation of kitchen white goods and floor finishes. The project is due to start in March 2020 and is expected to take just under one year, with homes handed over from February 2021.
Peaks & Plains Housing Trust owns and manages over 5,000 homes across Cheshire and the High Peak. The new development is part of the trust’s Five-Year Plan to deliver new homes across the region, which it announced in April 2018.
Dean Povey, Build Operations Manager at Novus, said: “Over the last year we’ve built over 65 homes between Staffordshire and Derbyshire for multiple housing providers while our national programmes of refurbishment and maintenance work has seen us improve in excess of 10,000 houses nationwide. Our expertise is allowing us to carve out a position as a key partner to the sector in helping it meet its ambitions of providing communities with high-quality affordable housing.”
Chris Draper, Development Manager at Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, said: “As part of our ambitious Five Year Plan, we pledged to expand our development programme to meet the local housing need, build safe, warm and thoughtfully-designed properties that people want to call home. Our work with contractors is a key part of this and Novus’ approach, expertise and values align really well with our own.”
