Premium Home Counties developer, Millgate, has started work on its second development in the village of Binfield, Berkshire.
Millgate acquired Parkham in October 2014 from Newbold College. The 2.2 acre site on St Mark’s Road will include 18 new homes, with a mix of 13 terraced and semi-detached houses and the restoration and refurbishment of the historic Parkham House into five apartments.
The company has previously built a collection of 18 three and four bedroom homes earlier this year.
Jonathan Cranley, Sales and Marketing Director for Millgate commented: “As our second site in the village, we have recognised the strength of the location to commuters working in the capital, with excellent transport links into London, as well as its proximity to other key regional hubs. I have no doubt that these houses and apartments will be snapped up by families in particular looking to upsize, as well as young professionals and downsizers who missed out on our last development. In anticipation of this demand, we will be releasing many of the homes off-plan.”
The site is expected to be completed by December 2016, with the first homes going on sale early next year.
Binfield, bordering the edge of Bracknell Forest, is a peaceful spot located within commuting distance of Reading, Wokingham, Bracknell and London. Property prices in Binfield have risen by 23.33 per cent in the last five years alone according to Zoopla, particularly as a £750 million regeneration project to transform Bracknell is underway. The areas mix of highly rated state and independent schools in the area also makes it a desirable location in which to live for families.
