Luxury appliance brand, KitchenAid is celebrating its centenary marking 100 years since the iconic stand mixer was born in 1919.
An immersive, sensorial experience was held at East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf to mark the occasion, honouring the brand’s heritage and celebrating its future.
The company began in 1919 with a stand mixer named ‘the best kitchen aid’ by an executive’s wife, and so the brand was born. The iconic shape of the stand mixer was created in 1937. And in 1949, KitchenAid branched out into major domestic appliances with the launch of its first dishwasher.
Lee Collett, Channel Controller, KitchenAid, said: “KitchenAid’s 100 year anniversary is a momentous occasion. Since the birth of the renowned stand mixer in 1919 and its first dishwasher in 1949, KitchenAid has built on the legacy of these icons to create a complete portfolio of appliances and accessories. Today’s appliances, with their professional performance, artisan quality and iconic design, empower makers to explore their culinary creativity and make special memories in the kitchen. The 100th anniversary event honoured these memories in a playground for the senses.
“KitchenAid is also looking to the future as we celebrate the innovation, originality and creativity that will inspire the next century of making. At KitchenAid we strive to continue to make the kitchen a creative space by building on our legacy of creating professional appliances for passionate makers.”
