At their virtual Special General Meeting and AGM in September, the members of Fairfield Housing Co-operative agreed to a rules change, converting the co-operative into a housing association.
The rules have now been registered by the Financial Conduct Authority and OSCR and the co-operative will now be known as Fairfield Housing Association.
Bob McDougall, Chair of Fairfield said, “The last couple of years have been challenging for Fairfield, however we are really pleased that we have converted to a Housing Association and Scottish Charity. This was part of our improvement and change plans and will provide further opportunities to continue enhancing services to our tenants. Although our rules have changed our mission to deliver high quality affordable homes and excellent services, which meet the needs and aspirations of our customers and communities, will continue to be our primary purpose”.
Fairfield own 514 homes and manage a further 231, in the Perth and Kinross area and currently have a shared services arrangement with Kingdom Housing Association and Bob added, “This is an exciting time for Fairfield. We have dedicated staff and Board members and through the conversion to a housing association we will be able to strengthen our governance arrangements, build on our partnership arrangements with Kingdom and progress the improvements we have planned for the future.”
