Bellway is set to build a development of 131 apartments on former brownfield land on the site of the former Goods Yard in Bishops Stortford.
The development – to be known as Goods Yard – is located on land off Station Road and will comprise a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments as part of the wider regeneration of the Hertfordshire site.
Bellway is building 131 of the total of residential properties as part of the redevelopment in Bishops Stortford, which will include 587 new homes, a 55-bed care home, an 85-bed hotel, new offices and retail space, two multi-storey car parks, cycle parking and new access routes through Station Road.
Greg Allsop, Head of Sales for Bellway North London, said: “We are naturally pleased to have received planning permission as part of this regeneration project in Bishops Stortford, and are looking forward to delivering a significant number of apartments to this area of Hertfordshire.
“The location is ideal for new homes, and will provide sustainable, high quality homes for a large number of residents in the town.”
Homes at Goods Yard will benefit from riverside views over the River Stort and will be located just moments away from Bishops Stortford train station, with services reaching Liverpool Street in around 40 minutes.
Goods Yard is a short drive from Stansted airport via the M11 motorway, which also links Bishops Stortford to Stratford in less than one hour.
The first homes being built by Bellway are scheduled to be released for sale in Spring 2020.
