Tackling Homelessness Together – closing on 16 May 2019, the Government is seeking views on: the effectiveness of existing non-statutory and statutory local accountability and partnership structures in homelessness services; whether the Government should introduce Homelessness Reduction Boards; and how else the Government might improve local accountability and partnership working in homelessness services.
Stamp Duty Land Tax: non-UK resident surcharge consultation – closing on 6 May 2019, the Government is consulting on plans to introduce a Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) surcharge on non-UK residents purchasing residential properties in England and Northern Ireland to stop them pushing up house prices.
Improving access to social housing for members of the Armed Forces – closing on 8 March 2019, this consultation sets out proposals for new statutory guidance for local authorities to assist members of the Armed Forces, veterans, and their families, to access social housing.
- The Law Commission’s 13th Programme of Law Reform: Residential leasehold and commonhold
Right to Manage – the latest Law Commission consultation on reform of leasehold, this consultation closes on 30 April 2019 and seeks views on proposals to extend right to manage to more mixed used developments and across multiple buildings on the same estates.
Reinvigorating commonhold: the alternative to leasehold ownership – closing on 10 March 2019, the Law Commission’s consultation follows up on the call for evidence last year and seeks detailed responses on all aspects of commonhold.
- HCLG Select Committee Inquiries
Modern Methods of Construction – the HCLG Committee is currently examining written responses for stakeholders to explain the benefits and drawbacks of using MMC techniques on their developments.
Leasehold Reform – the HCLG Committee’s inquiry looking at the progress made on the Government’s programme of leasehold reform is ongoing. It has heard oral evidence from leaseholders, campaigners, developers and freeholders.
