Bellway is set to start work on a new development of 370 homes in Upper Warren, Hartlepool.
Plans for a wider neighbourhood of 570 homes by Bellway and Miller Homes were approved by Hartlepool Borough Council in February this year, subject to a Section 106 agreement – which is in the process of being finalised.
The planning agreement will see the housebuilders investing more than £2.3 million in local infrastructure and facilities over the course of construction.
Bellway’s development, which will be called Hartwell Park, will comprise a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, alongside public open space, a play area and natural green space for wildlife.
As well as providing 303 private homes for sale, the scheme will also include 67 affordable homes available for local people through shared ownership or rent, while a new roundabout is set to be created on the A179 to provide access to the development.
Oliver Wray, Sales Manager for Bellway Durham, said: “Following the planning deal for Hartwell Park being agreed, we aim to start construction work on site imminently.
“This will enable us to deliver much-needed private and affordable new housing to Hartlepool. The demand for new homes in this area has been evident with over 100 interested buyers already signed up to receive updates about the development.
“Hartwell Park will provide a range of homes to suit a mix of buyers from first-time buyers to families of various sizes.
“Located near picturesque countryside and just a 10-minute drive from Hartlepool town centre, the marina and the sea front, residents will benefit from semi-rural lifestyle, whilst still being close to local shops and services.”
With construction now set to start on site, the first homes are expected to be released for sale to the public at Hartwell Park this summer.
