Kier begins work on 43 new homes in Peterborough

Kier Living Eastern start work at former hospital site in Peterborough.

Work has started on the first phase of homes at Oakthorpe, a collection of 43 one to four-bedroom properties from Kier Living Eastern in the cathedral city of Peterborough.

This contemporary development, off Thorpe Road, was formerly the site of Peterborough District Hospital, and has been unused since the hospital was decommissioned in 2010 and services transferred to the new Peterborough City Hospital. Outline Planning Permission was granted in October 2014 for development of the entire site including up to 350 residential units.

Kier Living Eastern sales and marketing director David Thomas said: “Building homes at the former hospital site will provide comprehensive regeneration of the area to the west of the city centre. This is an exciting project for Kier Living Eastern and we will be creating a high quality residential neighbourhood and much needed new housing for Peterborough.”

Kier Living Eastern has already built a sold-out development of homes in the city, at Connect21, off Potters Way just minutes from the city centre.
