The Edenstone Group is moving forward with expansion into the South West of England having acquired its first site in Devon.
Headquartered in Magor in South Wales, the homebuilder opened a new regional office in Portishead in September 2021 to support its growth plans.
The acquisition of a 10.53-acre parcel of land in Sampford Peverell, around five miles east of Tiverton, will play a pivotal role in the expansion of the business.
James Morgan, Land Director for the Edenstone Group’s Southern region, said: “I am pleased to announce that we have completed the purchase of a 10.5 acre parcel of land in Sampford Peverell, a site that is widely-considered to be one of the best development opportunities in Devon. Acquiring our first site in Devon is a milestone for our business and the land in Sampford Peverell will become a flagship scheme as part of our expansion into the South West of England. The business has focused on acquiring excellent development sites and I am thrilled we’ve been able to achieve this here. The development of this site will bring much needed new homes to the local area.”
Subject to reserved matters planning consent, the scheme will deliver 60 homes including 39 private sale properties with a mix of three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes.
There will also be 18 affordable homes, plus three designated self-build plots.
In addition to building new homes, the Edenstone Group will invest more than £250,000 into the local community via section 106 contributions.
Established in 2003, the Edenstone Group – which includes Edenstone Homes, Bluebell Homes, Ashgrove Partnerships and Edenstone Land – aims to build 800 homes a year by 2025.
