Edenstone plans for new homes in Devon approved

The Edenstone Group is preparing to start work on its first housing development in Devon. Mid Devon District Council approved a reserved matters planning application for 60 homes across a 10.53-acre parcel of land off Higher Town, west of Sampford Peverell.

Along with new homes, the scheme will provide a central village square and green; children’s play area, community gardens, orchard and allotments, as well as green open spaces.

Edenstone Group Planning Director Tim Smale said: “Receiving reserved matters approval for our first site in Devon is a milestone for the business and a credit to everyone involved. It’s set to be a fantastic development, providing much-needed new homes and green open spaces for residents to enjoy, while spearheading our expansion across the South West.

“Now that planning is in place, we’re making preparatory arrangements to enable us to start work on site later this year. We’ve also started receiving enquiries from potential purchasers keen to know more about the homes when they will be released for sale.”

The  development in Sampford Peverell will deliver 39 private sale properties with a mix of two, three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes and three-bedroom bungalows.

There will also be 18 affordable homes, with one to four-bedrooms, plus three designated self-build plots for four-bedroom homes.

Work is due to start later this year and is expected to take two years to complete.

The first homes are due to be released for sale in spring 2023.
