Countryside selected by Bromley Council to build 380 new homes

Countryside will work with the Council to deliver Churchill Gardens in southeast London.

Countryside has been selected to deliver a development comprising of both residential and commercial elements, including 384 new, high-quality homes across eight apartment blocks in Bromley town centre. Designed by Stitch Architects, Churchill Gardens will be adjacent to the existing Church House Gardens, as well as being in the heart of the town centre.

The proposal, formerly known as Site G, will be multi-storey, is subject to planning, with the heights to be determined but varying across the scheme area. The accommodation mix will include: 250 private sale homes, 81 affordable rent homes, and 53 shared ownership homes. The heat and hot water for the development will supplied by a Combined Heat and Power system located within the basement.

Councillor Stephen Carr, Leader of Bromley Council, said: “This is a key site in our town centre and we are pleased to have appointed Countryside to deliver a long lasting legacy at Churchill Gardens, Bromley. We wanted to create a high quality scheme which supports growth in Bromley is what we want to see and Countryside’s experience of large scale regeneration schemes, place-making and high quality design will be help to create a vibrant hub for both new and existing residents.”
