Hayfield has started work on a £21m development on the outskirts of Devizes. Foundation and groundworks are underway at Hayfield Rise, where Hayfield will deliver 50 ‘zero carbon ready’ luxury homes.
The eight-acre (3.22 Ha) site in the village of West Lavington, on the north edge of the Salisbury Plain, will feature a range of bungalows, maisonettes and two, three, four and five-bedroom executive houses.
Up to 30% of the new homes will be affordable, with a tenure split of 60% affordable rented (nine) and 40% shared ownership (six). All homes will have designated parking, with many benefiting from garages. Visitor parking spaces will also be widely available.
Andy Morris, Managing Director of Hayfield, said: “Breaking ground at Hayfield Rise is just the start of this exciting new development which is set to bring more of our sustainable homes to the Wiltshire property market while also creating jobs and investment in the local area.
“We are confident that thanks to thoughtful design, our considerable environmental enhancements and the high specification that sets Hayfield apart from other developers, Hayfield Rise is set to become one of our most eco-efficient and luxurious new developments.
“We have already received a high number of enquiries and we look forward to our first homeowners moving in early next year.”
As part of the development, 20 designated drop-off car parking spaces will be provided at Dauntsey Academy Primary School for the use of parents and carers.
An area of open space will also be included along with a fully equipped play area, native tree planting and a new area of pollen and nectar-rich wildflowers.
Outline planning permission for the site was granted by Wiltshire Council in 2021, with full planning secured in May this year. The first homes will be available to buy in November.
