Construction has started on a development of 44 affordable Stonewater homes in East Anton, on the outskirts of Andover.
Leading affordable housing provider Stonewater is working in close partnership with Test Valley Borough Council and Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties to deliver this much-needed housing scheme off East Anton Farm Road, on land currently known as ‘Parcel B’ in Augusta Park. The new homes will help address local demand for affordable housing in the community and also provide training and apprenticeship opportunities during their construction.
Stonewater’s new housing development – due for completion in early 2019 – will provide 22 one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments and houses for affordable rent, and 22 one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments and houses for shared ownership. Two of the rental apartments will be wheelchair-accessible. The first phase of homes will be available next month (October 2016).
“We are delighted to be working with Test Valley Borough Council and Taylor Wimpey and looking forward to seeing these smart new affordable homes take shape,” says Marie Riordan, Regional Development Manager for Stonewater.
Roz Wells, Associate Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, says: “As a considerate and responsible housebuilder we’re committed to working with local authorities to help provide much-needed affordable housing across the area. We’re really pleased to have begun work on site at Augusta Park for the affordable homes, which means we are now one step closer to unveiling the first selection of beautiful new properties to local house-hunters.”
