Bewley Homes has completed on the purchase of a site in Hungerford which has outline planning consent for 100 dwellings, to be created in partnership with Wates Residential Developments Group.
The new homes, 40 per cent of which will be affordable homes, form part of Bewley’s new Garden Village Housing Collection – a range of properties designed to create a sense of place and character, in keeping with the existing local community and environment.
The Salisbury Road site, which has a gross development value of £38m, will comprise a mixture of one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom properties, ranging in size between 624 sq ft and 1,900 sq ft. The development is being designed by Noble Architects.
Bewley Homes Managing Director Andrew Brooks said: “This is the first Bewley Homes site in Hungerford, and we are all looking forward to building a long-standing relationship with what is an exceptional market town.
“Hungerford enviably benefits from many pubs and restaurants, great transport links, shops and local schools and many wonderful sporting community organisations. It represents the very best of English market town life.”
Andrew added: “At Bewley Homes, we take great pride in the quality of our construction and craftsmanship, as well as the aesthetic detailing of our homes. We feel that our Hungerford development will help to fulfil the much-needed requirement for new homes in this thriving area. What’s more, it is continued reinforcement of our commitment to providing high quality homes to local communities.”
Wates Residential Developments Group Managing Director David Brocklebank said: “Planning was granted by the local authority in November 2017 and we are delighted that Bewley Homes will now bring these new homes forward. Bewley Homes has a long track record of delivering to an excellent standard and in a way that is sensitive to the local area. As a result, we are confident that this scheme will become an asset to the local community.”
