Cast concrete specialist, Supreme Concrete, has launched a national range of ex-stock floor beams aimed at the extension and conversion market.
The new range features four of the company’s most popular stock floor beam types, each in a full range of sizes. Special brick slips and coursing blocks are included within the range, enabling contractors to finish the floor onto load-bearing walls and close off the beam ends.
The move is in response to increased customer demand for more efficient concrete flooring systems, and will open up the market to smaller projects where lower volumes and local availability are key.
Widely used in domestic and commercial ground floors and upper floors where additional sound insulation is required, beam and block suspended floors are growing in popularity because they are quick to install without specialist skills, making them ideal for smaller projects.
The launch of the stock range follows new investment at Supreme’s Sittingbourne plant, one of five major UK plants operated by the company.
Supreme Sales Director, Tim Wright, believes the new range of stock beams may produce significant add-on benefits for merchants. “By offering a ‘one-stop shop’ for everything from floor beams to bricks and roofing products, the merchant is in a stronger position to gain earlier project intelligence and thus gain add-on sales – and cement relationships with smaller builders in the local area.”
