A new podcast aimed at supporting tradespeople and construction workers has been launched by Tarmac Cement this month.
The ‘One of the Family’ podcast will see figures come together from across the industry to discuss the hot topics and latest issues facing the building and construction sector. The first two episodes will look at the challenges surrounding mental health, with Peter Cape from the tradespeople charity Band of Builders joining Tarmac to kick off the first one.
A qualified Mental Health First Aider and an instrumental member of the Band of Builders aftercare team, Peter will shine a spotlight on the importance of sharing and supporting fellow colleagues, as well as reinforcing the importance of a permissive environment when it comes to mental health.
Future episodes are expected to explore other topics, including industry best practice, upcoming trends and women in construction. Listeners will be able to submit questions ahead of each episode for guests to answer and discuss.
Gareth Osborne, senior marketing manager at Tarmac Cement said: “After what has been an unusual and challenging year for many of us in the world of construction, we are delighted to launch this new podcast.
“We’ll be talking about the topics which matter most to tradespeople. Whether it’s to open the conversation on a difficult topic, to laugh about bodge jobs or to share top tips, this podcast is a celebration of the tradie community. It will also give tradespeople an opportunity to voice their opinion and lead the conversation on the issues that matter to them.
“Our first episode offers a discussion into the very important issue of mental health and we really do hope listeners will find this valuable.”
The podcast initiative forms part of Tarmac’s One of the Family campaign, launched in 2019. Built around Blue Circle’s brand values of quality, reliability and trust, the ‘One of the Family’ campaign highlights that when it comes to having good, solid family values, Blue Circle’s packed cement range has bags of them.
The eye-catching campaign promotes the extensive Blue Circle range, with each individual product being given a family characteristic that is aligned to the product’s features and the benefits they bring to the end-user. For example, Blue Circle Mastercrete Cement is ‘The Reliable One’ thanks to its superior quality and improved workability, whilst Blue Circle Postcrete is ‘The Easy One’ as there’s no mixing and it sets in less than ten minutes.
The ‘One of the Family’ podcast will be available to listen to on all major listening platforms such as Spotify, Apple music, Google podcast and Stitcher as well as a video version published on YouTube. Episodes will be published every two weeks in the new year.
